How do you get to the Four Mile Trail? What time does the bird-watching walk start? Asked and answered, thanks to a new Yosemite mobile app!
Several years ago, Conservancy donors helped fund Yosemite’s first mobile app: a simple, useful tool with basic park information. This grant supported the development of a more advanced and user-friendly app, built on a tried-and-true platform used across the National Park System. In 2018, the app team worked on planning and preparation for the new tool, including by collecting GPS data and creating content for hundreds of locations throughout the park. Once the app launches, users will be able to explore park services and programs, including Conservancy-run adventures, art classes and theater shows; use an interactive map to navigate and find suggested activities; and tap into trail-specific content. The app aligns Yosemite’s mobile offerings with those of other major national parks and provide a huge benefit for visitors.
Your gift supported an important project to give everyone, from first-time visitors to longtime park-lovers, a useful new tool for enriching their time in Yosemite.
