Project overview: Bring together representatives from each of Yosemite’s seven traditionally affiliated Tribes for a series of conversations to identify and discuss top Inter-Tribal priorities for park leadership and integration.

The backstory: In an effort to more meaningfully engage the original stewards of the lands now called Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Conservancy will fund a series of initiatives to elevate Tribal voices. Goals for this project include working with Tribes to increase visibility and storytelling in the park through interpretive signage and programs, exhibits, books, and more; appropriately compensating Tribal members for their time and travel, related to this work; and working with tribal groups to to collaborate on — and provide feedback for — existing and proposed projects within the park, and identify ideas and priorities for park management.
