Enjoy the splendor of summer in Yosemite’s high country during this one-of-a-kind backpacking trip with an experienced naturalist guide. Start with a Friday hike along the edge of the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River to Glen Aulin, your home for the next two nights. Spend Saturday relaxing by the river or hiking to nearby Waterwheel Fall, then head out on Sunday on the same trail. Throughout the weekend, learn about the flora and fauna that make their home in the high country, and enjoy the dramatic scenery in this beautiful corner of the park.

Included with your registration:

  • Three full days of guided backpacking from Tuolumne Meadows (8 am on July 10 to 3 pm on July 12, depending on the speed of the group), plus an introductory evening meeting on Thursday, July 9 (7:30 pm at Tuolumne Meadows Backpackers Campground).
  • Park entry (as needed).
  • Bear-canister rental and wilderness permits (as needed).
  • Two nights of tent camping at Tuolumne Meadows Backpackers Campground, if needed (available Thursday, July 9 and Sunday, July 12).
    • Our limited camping sites are for participants only. The sites are shared. Tents only. We cannot adjust the dates.

Note: There is no discount if you choose not to use our gate pass, campsites, bear-canister rental or Wilderness permits.

Participants must be physically fit and prepared to hike 17 miles round-trip. Previous backpacking experience is preferred.
