Join us for an unforgettable Yosemite adventure along a classic wilderness route. This relaxing three-day, two-night guided backpacking trip features a moderate trek through the Sierra backcountry — plus jaw-dropping views, serene wilderness settings, and the chance to learn from an experienced Yosemite naturalist.

The trip kicks off with a Thursday-evening get-together at Tuolumne Meadows Campground, where you’ll meet your guide and review the route, safety tips including our new COVID-19 procedures, and Leave No Trace ethics. In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we have altered our usual programs to allow participants to maintain social distance and ensure a safe environment. Our instructors will keep the group moving in a long line as we hike so as not to crowd the trail. We will only stop to offer interpretation when there is ample space to stay six feet apart.

On Friday morning, you’ll hike into the wilderness and set up camp about three miles from the trailhead, just past the Sunrise Lakes High Sierra Camp. This will be home for the next two nights. On Saturday, the group will summit Clouds Rest. You’ll hike up with only a daypack, leaving your backpack safely at camp — and leaving you free to focus on the experience without extra weight on your shoulders! We’ll arrive at the summit with plenty of time to savor the magnificent 360-degree view and marvel at the Valley from far above. On Sunday, you’ll enjoy a leisurely morning before the group hikes back out to Tioga Road.

This route offers ample opportunities to learn about Yosemite and the Sierra — and, of course, to capture incredible photos. Throughout the weekend, your leader will share tips for the trail, point out notable natural features, and offer insights about the park’s history, wildlife, flora and geology. Bring your curiosity … and a camera!
