Sierra Nevada Red Fox

This picture of a Sierra Nevada red fox, taken in Dec. 2014, was the first confirmed detection of this creature in Yosemite in nearly a century. Thanks to support from Conservancy donors, scientists are tracking this rare and elusive animal – and learning more about the animals that share the fox’s habitat.
