Great Gray Owl
Yosemite provides a home for more than two-thirds of California’s endangered great gray owls. These majestic birds, the tallest owls in North America, nest and hunt in mid-elevation meadows and forests. With support from Conservancy donors, scientists are studying and protecting this rare species in Yosemite.
