Please note: This program has been canceled.

We’ve canceled early 2021 programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to helping people connect with Yosemite through naturalist-led experiences again when it is safe to do so. For more information, please see the Yosemite National Park site and our COVID-19 updates. Thank you for understanding!

Program Overview: This Valentine’s Day, fall in love with one of the world’s natural wonders: the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.

Depending on conditions, your naturalist guide will lead you on a hike or snowshoe trip among the towering trees. You’ll experience the serene setting made even more romantic by winter’s slow pace. As you move below and around the enormous red-brown trunks and gaze up at the sky-scraping branches, you’ll get to look and listen for wildlife that stay active year round, hear the stories behind some of the grove’s most famous trees, and learn how the Sierra Nevada snowpack has helped these giant trees thrive for thousands of years.

COVID-19: We have implemented special safety measures to keep participants and instructors safe during the ongoing pandemic. For example, participants will hike single-file and keep moving to avoid crowding the trail, and instructors will stop to offer interpretation only when there is ample space to stay at least six feet apart. Please review our COVID-19 procedures for details.
