Every year, our donors support multiple youth programs in the park. While each program’s official timeline might end with a presentation, a photo exhibit, or the last day of a summer backpacking trip, the impacts of those experiences often reverberate well into the future.
Park ranger Jessica Rivas, a former youth program participant, is living proof that Youth in Yosemite Programs can inspire careers and shape lives.. We introduced our readers to Jessica in 2016, when she wrote about meeting President Obama during his visit to the park, and about working at the UC Merced Wilderness Education Center. In 2017, she starred in the inaugural episode of Park Champions, a mini-documentary series from Parks Project and Compass Coalition. Watch to find out what makes her a park champion!
