Steve Ciesinski is an experienced Silicon Valley-based technology operator, investor and educator with a deep commitment to innovation and a passion for the outdoors. His early career included positions at Procter & Gamble and Booz, Allen & Hamilton; he was a senior executive at Octel and Resumix, a partner with Earlybird Ventures, and most recently, president of SRI International. He manages his own private venture fund; works with several international venture capital funds; and teaches at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Steve’s interest in the outdoors began early, thanks to mushroom-gathering walks with his grandparents in New York; today, he’s an avid skier, golfer, tennis player, bicyclist and backpacker (and aspiring ukulele player). Steve and his wife, Diane, joined the Yosemite Fund in 1995, and both serve on the Yosemite Conservancy Board. They run the Kalele Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving self-esteem and providing scholarships for disadvantaged youth.
