Favorite Yosemite Activity: Hiking on Glacier Trail to Glacier Point and Tuolumne Meadows.
Memorable Yosemite moment: Helping establish the sister-park relationship between Yosemite and Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Olotumi grew up as a Maasai warrior in a small village in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, in northern Tanzania. He has loved nature and wildlife since childhood. After college, he started guiding clients up Mt. Kilimanjaro and through other national parks in Tanzania, and eventually made his way to Yosemite. In his role at the Conservancy, Laizer supervises the team that keeps things running smoothly in our bookstores at the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center and Yosemite Museum.
