Born in Detroit, Shelton Johnson is an interpretive ranger in Yosemite National Park. He appeared in Ken Burns’ documentary “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea” and was called the “unexpected star” of the mini-series. His extensive research and portrayal of a Buffalo Soldier at the turn of the 20th century has been widely acclaimed.
