Greg Stock is Yosemite’s first park geologist. He has a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz where his research focused on dating the uplift rate of the Sierra Nevada. Since arriving in Yosemite he has been researching geologic hazards such as rock falls and debris flows, and piecing together Yosemite’s glacial history. Greg enjoys sharing the story of Yosemite’s geology and makes it sound as fascinating as it really is.
