Yosemite has inspired generations of artists, from early painters to modern-day iPad illustrators. During this three-day watercolor workshop, you’ll get to tap into the long tradition of creating art in — and inspired by — the park.

Join painter John Hewitt to spend a long weekend learning and painting with fellow artists. Each day, you’ll build and hone plein air techniques, as you capture the colors, light, forms and feelings of spring in Yosemite Valley. Throughout the workshop, you’ll benefit from conversations and check-ins with your instructor and peers, while developing pieces that reflect your personal Yosemite experience and perspective.

Included with your registration:

  • Three day immersive art workshop (Friday, March 29, morning, through Sunday, March 31, around 3 pm) with an optional introductory evening meeting on Thursday, March 28, at the Happy Isles Art and Nature Center in Yosemite Valley at 5:30 pm.
  • Park entry (as needed).
  • Camping included, if needed; limited sites are shared among all the participants (reservation arrives Thursday, March 28, and departs Monday, Monday, April 1) at Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. We cannot adjust these dates.

Note: There is no discount if you choose not to use our gate pass or campsites. Information about upgrading your accommodations to stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge will be emailed to you after you sign up. The option to upgrade expires 45 days before the start of the program.
