Yosemite’s color palette spans hundreds of hues: the deep gray of granite walls, the soft green of a spring meadow, the blue flash of a Steller’s jay swooping overhead. In this four-hour class with artist Juan Peña, you’ll learn to mix three watercolors to create the various tones that bring the park to life. As you observe and practice techniques for working with watercolor in an outdoor setting, you’ll see a spring scene emerge on your canvas, built on a simple trio of paints that come together to make a rich portrait of the park. At the end of the class, bring your painting home as a colorful souvenir of your Yosemite visit!
