Location: Event takes place in Mariposa Grove

Spend your Friday afternoon exploring the science and stories shaping Yosemite today. The Yosemite Conservancy Stewardship Series offers a unique opportunity to learn from experts through short, topic-focused programs inspired by donor-funded projects. Each two-hour session highlights a different area of research, restoration, or stewardship — from meadow recovery and sequoia ecology to wildlife conservation and beyond.

Step into a forest of giants and discover the science behind Yosemite’s most iconic trees. During this program, you’ll walk among these ancient trees while learning about the ecology that sustains them, from fire’s essential role in sequoia reproduction to the ongoing work monitoring tree health and forest dynamics. The National Park Service and Yosemite Conservancy have partnered on crucial projects including the grove’s major restoration, completed in 2018 thanks to donors.

Join us to explore how science and stewardship work together to protect these living monuments and see how your support helps ensure sequoias will tower over Yosemite for millennia to come.
