Spend a guided weekend exploring two areas in western Yosemite: Hetch Hetchy and Ackerson Meadow.

The adventure starts on Friday evening, with a special program focused on the diverse bat species that make their homes in this part of the park. On Saturday, your guide will introduce you to the stunning scenery of the Hetch Hetchy area, home to granite cliffs, hiking trails and towering waterfalls that cascade into its most famous feature: a 117-billion-gallon reservoir. On Sunday, visit Yosemite’s newest protected habitat, Ackerson Meadow, a previously privately owned 400-acre meadow that supports a wide variety of plant and animal species.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll be treated to a springtime display of bright wildflowers at their peak, while exploring the natural and human history that has shaped both areas.

Included with your registration:

  • Two-day guided experience in Yosemite; one day at Hetch Hetchy and one day in Ackerson Meadow (Saturday, May 11, at 8 am, through Sunday, May 12, until about 3 pm). Friday, enjoy an evening about bats starting at 7 pm.
  • Park entry (as needed).
  • Camping included, if needed; limited sites are shared among all the participants (reservation arrives May 10 and departs May 13) at Hodgdon Campground at the Big Oak Flat Entrance Gate. We cannot adjust these dates.

Note: There is no discount if you choose not to use our gate pass or campsites. Information about upgrading your accommodations to stay at Evergreen Lodge will be emailed to you after you sign up. The option to upgrade expires 45 days before the start of the program.
