Program Overview: Spend a day in Yosemite Valley celebrating the beauty of autumn, discovering the science behind fall’s dazzling transition. We’ll wander along the western Valley as the leaves shift from green, revealing the hidden colors within. Learn why trees change color in the fall, and how seasonal transitions shape Yosemite’s ecosystems. We’ll also observe the Valley’s animal world and learn how their unique adaptations have evolved for survival during the seasonal changes underway. Prepare for engaging discussions, and time for quiet observation. You’ll experience both the wonder of fall’s fleeting beauty and the fascinating biology that brings it to life.

- Program date: Saturday, October 29, from 9am–3 pm

- Guided instruction with a Yosemite Conservancy Naturalist Guide
- Park entry pass (valid for program dates only)
- Shared tent camping (camping dates cannot be altered)
- Optional free day on Sunday, October 25, to explore on your own
- No discount is available if you choose not to use the gate pass or campsite.
- Camping Information: Arrive Wednesday, October 28, after 12 pm. Depart Friday, October 30, by 11 am. Amenities include two campsites that are shared between all participants, each with space for 4–5 tents and equipped with a picnic table, bear locker, and fire pit.
- Camping Location: Upper Pines Campground
- Important Notes: Due to the shared nature of the campsites, we cannot accommodate RVs, campers, or car camping. If you would like a private campsite, have an RV/camper, or plan to sleep in your car, you’ll need to make your own reservation. Please note that camping is reserved for program participants only.
