Program Overview: Did you know Yosemite is home to more species of woodpeckers than any comparable area in the United States? Join us for a spring day exploring the Valley and surrounding areas with an experienced naturalist. Together, you’ll travel to a variety of elevations — both within and just outside the park — in search of Yosemite’s diverse woodpeckers. With spring’s sparse foliage, this is the perfect season to spot and hear these remarkable birds. Enjoy a day of relaxed hiking, engaging conversation, and unique wildlife sightings in one of the world’s most spectacular landscapes.
