Program Overview: Enjoy a stunning 360-degree view of the High Sierra as you stand on the summit of one of Yosemite’s most iconic peaks: Clouds Rest. Although this day hike is long and strenuous (15 miles), it’s worth your effort — the views and vistas along the trail are nothing short of breathtaking, and the natural and cultural history you’ll learn along the way will help you see Yosemite through a whole new lens.

Know Before You Go

  • When: Saturday, September 17, from 8 am to around 5 pm.
  • Where: Clouds Rest
  • Registration includes: Park entry (as needed), and three nights of tent camping at a shared campsite at Upper Pines Campground before and after the trip (September 16, 17, and 18).
There is no discount if you choose not to use the included gate pass or campsite.
  • Lodging options: Tent camping (included), or upgrade to Curry Village for an additional fee. Camping and lodging dates cannot be adjusted. The upgrade option expires 30 days before the program. Lodging information will be sent immediately after registering.
  • Experience level: Participants must have prior hiking experiences at elevations above 10,000 feet, be very physically fit, and be ready to carry personal gear for 14.5 miles of high-elevation hiking over the course of a day, including some off-trail travel on steep, rugged terrain. We recommend spending a few days and nights at high elevation immediately before the trip to adjust to the altitude.
