Hike your way to one of the most scenic spots in Yosemite! On this weekend backpacking trip, you’ll join fellow adventurers and an experienced naturalist guide for a memorable trek to North Dome, which rises above Royal Arches on the north side of Yosemite Valley. To get there, you’ll make a gentle descent from Tioga Road, ending at a vast granite expanse with jaw-dropping views of Half Dome, Tenaya Canyon and distant Sierra peaks. Relax on the dome, or enjoy an optional short side hike to Indian Rock, a rare natural granite arch. Whatever you choose, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn about the area’s flora, fauna, geology and history.
After spending the night camped out under a full moon, you’ll pack out to your starting trailhead — and we guarantee you’ll be eager to get back to North Dome whenever you get the chance.
