This is an amazing opportunity to get up close and personal with Yosemite’s birds! Whether you’re a beginner or experienced birder, you’ll be amazed at this guided tour of Yosemite Valley habitats. In search of species ranging from canyon wrens to peregrine falcons, your renowned naturalist guide, Michael Elsohn Ross, will lead you through forests, meadows and cliffs, sharing identification techniques and insider knowledge about the ecology and seasonal patterns of the Valley’s local birds. You will also be treated to a very special bird-banding session with park ranger Sarah Stock, where you will experience the joys of holding a delicate bird and learn the science behind songbird conservation. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to observe these beautiful birds at arm’s length! This excursion runs Friday morning through Sunday afternoon. It is based in Yosemite Valley with carpooling to other parts of the park.
