Many youth programs in the park are entry points to unique wilderness and educational experiences, but how do we ensure these youth keep progressing? This program does just that by offering alumni from WildLink youth programs a continuing course that includes an apprenticeship with park rangers and other park partners. Participants are introduced to different park careers while working on restoration field projects and completing a Wilderness patrol.

Past programs have been very successful with 17 teen alumni introduced to over 30 professions and over 50 professionals in Yosemite. As of 2011, two alumni were employed as interpretation rangers with the US Forest Service.

This program creates that vital next step – taking our youth from education to careers in Yosemite.

Project Notes

The Bridge program changed me. Now feel like I am part of Yosemite, and it is my duty to take care of these beautiful places for future generations.
