Yosemite Nature Notes, a video series based on the popular 1922–1985 periodical of the same name, presents fascinating stories and stunning footage of the park. These 5- to 7-minute documentaries draw on brilliant imagery and interviews with park rangers, resource managers, park partners and visitors to showcase a variety of topics, such as night skies, Half Dome, frazil ice, moonbows and glaciers.

This extremely popular series, which has reached millions of viewers, increases public understanding of Yosemite and help people make lasting connections to the park before, during and after their visit.

In 2014, the series added five new episodes:

  • Yosemite Nature Notes (a history of the original periodical)
  • Birdsongs
  • Monarchs & Milkweed
  • Ghost Towns (the mining history of the Tioga Pass area)
  • Yosemite Inspiration (a brief history of the Yosemite Grant)
