The Yosemite Leadership Program (YLP) summer internship connects college students to Yosemite and engages them in learning and professional development for public-lands careers.

The 12-week summer internship brings students into Yosemite and exposes them to a range of learning and leadership experiences with the National Park Service and other park partners. In 2014, the 16 interns worked alongside park staff in a range of divisions, gaining practical, field-based experience. During their internships, the students completed individual projects, such as developing web content or designing curriculum, and group stewardship projects, including restoration work in Mariposa Grove.  Over the course of the summer, the YLP interns shared their experiences through presentations at park events, including at the annual Youth Symposium in Yosemite Valley.

Your support exposes students to park-protection issues and creates legacies that last long after the internship.
