Happy Isles Art and Nature Center is closed for the 2020 season, as a safety precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’ve canceled many of our in-person art programs. And while we’ll miss seeing you in person at Happy Isles this year, we’re getting creative with ways to help you make park-inspired art in Yosemite and at home!
- Take a private class: Throughout the 2020 season, we’ll be offering private art classes in the park for small groups – contact us to find out more and create your custom class.
- Make your own nature-inspired art: Whether you’re in Yosemite or at home, our latest artistic resources offer inspiration, tools and techniques for capturing your outdoor experiences and observations. Turn art into a new hobby — or a daily habit! Check out our art kits (coming soon, for home delivery or to pick up in the park), learn watercolor basics in our four-part painting series, and stay tuned for more ways to make creativity part of your every day.
- Get crafty with the kids: Check out our new Yosemite-themed coloring pages, plus videos on kid-friendly projects, in the Park Art, From Anywhere blog post!
We’ll add more art activities throughout the season, so check back often!
We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Happy Isles for our full line-up of Open Studio sessions, kids’ classes and art workshops next year. And in the meantime, we hope you’ll embrace opportunities to connect with nature through art, whether you’re in the park or at home. Be sure to tag us (@yosemiteconservancy) in photos of your Yosemite- and nature-inspired art creations on social media, using #HappyIslesArt!
