Camping Reservations
To make a reservation online, click here.

Campers may make reservations up to five months in advance. Reservations become available the 15th of each month (for example, to obtain a campsite for July 4, 2003, you may make the reservation beginning February 15, 2003).

From May through September, campsites are in heavy demand, and prospective campers are encouraged to call the reservation number as early as possible.

Yosemite Valley Campgrounds

Check-in/check-out time for Yosemite Valley campgrounds is l0:00 a.m. Campsites in the Valley campgrounds are assigned by Biospherics, Inc. when the reservation is made. Campers may request a specific campsite number (if it is available) when they make their reservation. Campsite assignments are final. Campers may not switch or change campsites after they arrive in the park. Maximum length for recreational vehicles in Valley campgrounds is 40 feet.

There is a 30-day camping limit within Yosemite National Park in any calendar year; however, the camping limit in Yosemite Valley is seven days, from May 1 to September 15. Yosemite Valley campgrounds are not wheelchair accessible

Sunnyside Walk-In Campground is open all year on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites are rented on a "per person basis," and six people will be placed in each campsite, regardless of the number of people in your party. Sunnyside fills (often before 9:00 am.) each day May through September.


Group Campgrounds

There are four group campgrounds in Yosemite: in Wawona, Tuolumne Meadows, Hodgdon Meadow and Bridalveil Creek. The valley group campground was destroyed in the January 1997 flood. A maximum of 30 people are allowed in each group campsite, and check-in/check-out time is noon.

During periods of peak visitation, all group campsites may be booked early. Make reservations for the Wawona and Bridalveil Creek group camps by writing to: Wawona Group Reservations, Wawona District Office, P.O. Box 2027, Yosemite, CA 95389 no sooner than 12 weeks in advance.



Campgrounds Outside Yosemite Valley

Check-in/check-out time for campgrounds outside Yosemite Valley is noon. Maximum length for recreational vehicles is 35 feet.

There is a 30-day camping limit within Yosemite National Park during any calendar year; however, from May 1 to September 15 inclusive, the camping limit outside the Valley is limited to a total of not more than 14 days, except for Wawona, which is limited to 7 days. Wawona and Hodgdon Meadow are open all year. Other campgrounds outside the Valley are open during the summer months.

Camping Services

There are no hookups in Yosemite campgrounds, but there are sanitary dump stations in Yosemite Valley (all year), Wawona and Tuolumne Meadows (summer only). Showers (24-hours at Curry Village, and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seasonally at Housekeeping Camp) and laundry facilities (8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seasonally at Housekeeping Camp) are available in Yosemite Valley. Dog kennels are available in Yosemite Valley at the stables (open seasonally) from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Dogs must be gentle, over 10 pounds,, with proof of shots and license required.
