Yosemite Association Offers Two All-Inclusive Family Camping Outings in Yosemite’s High Country
Family Camping Jamboree Weekends in July and August include reserved campsite, all meals, guided hikes, crafts and campfire programs for one low price
Dreaming of an affordable, no-hassle family camping outing in Yosemite’s beautiful high country? The Yosemite Association, a non-profit organization that conducts award-winning interpretive programs in Yosemite National Park, announces two weekend family adventures that include a reserved campsite, all daily meals and an action packed schedule of guided hikes, organized crafts, games and campfire programs for one low price!
Held July 21 through 24, and August 18 through 21 at the Tuolumne Meadows Campground, the Family Camping Jamboree weekends invite families to enjoy the inspiring beauty of Yosemite’s High Sierra without the trappings of cooking, clean-up and activity planning. Knowledgeable guides will lead a series of day hikes, interpretive programs and family-friendly activities designed to please all ages and interests. Three daily meals and snacks are included.
Dave Wyman , a professional nature and travel photographer, and his assistant, Kathy Burke, will help attendees learn to identify wildflowers, wildlife and constellations in the night sky, as well as understand the park’s geology and enjoy optional guided day hikes to nearby meadows, lakes and granite peaks. Additional activities include campfire interpretive programs replete with s’mores, storytelling and crafts for the kids.
“These weekends are a great opportunity for spending quality family time, networking with other parents, or simply letting the adults relax while the kids make new friends,” notes program instructor Dave Wyman. “This is the kind of summer camping experience that families will remember for a lifetime.”
The Family Camping Jamboree costs $191 for adults (special YA member price) or $225 for non-members, and $106 per child aged 12 and under (special YA member price) or $125 for non-members. Tuition includes the park entrance fee (a $20 value), a reserved campsite for three nights, all guided activities, daily meals and snacks. Reservations are limited and can be made by calling Pete Devine at (209) 379-2321.About the Yosemite Association
