Family Camping Jamboree includes Professional Guide, Campsite, Interpretive Programs and all Meals/Snacks for a bargain price!!

Camping has long been established as the #1 most popular family summer vacation activity. This August, the not-for-profit Yosemite Association invites families to join knowledgeable guides and other families for a camping outing in Yosemite National Park's famed Tuolumne Meadows - without having to cook!

August 12-15, instructors Dave Wyman, a professional nature and travel photographer, and his assistant, Kathy Burke, will lead the Yosemite Association's Outdoor Adventure program designed especially for families, with Tuolumne Meadows campground as home base.

Family Camping Jamboree participants will identify wildflowers, learn about the night sky, examine the park's geology or take optional guided day hikes including meadow walks and hikes to Lembert Dome or Elizabeth Lake to witness wildlife and the wilderness. Additional activities include campfire interpretive programs replete with s'mores, storytelling and crafts for the kids.

"This is a great weekend to spend time with family, network with other parents and let the adults relax while the kids make new friends," said Dave Wyman. "Leave your cooking gear at home! This is the kind of trip families will remember for a lifetime."

The Family Camping Jamboree is for all ages and abilities. Cost per adult is $191 for YA members or $225 for non-members, and per child is $106 member / $125 non-member. Fee includes campsite, guides, all meals and snacks. Reservations are limited.

Family Jamboree participants do not have to be a member of Yosemite Association to attend field courses. However, those who wish to become a steward of Yosemite can join the Yosemite Association with memberships starting at $35 per year. Membership benefits include discounted room rates in and around Yosemite, a 15% discount on all outdoor adventures, subscription to "Yosemite," the quarterly journal of the Association, 15% discount on all books, maps, posters and calendars, and regular email newsletters.
