World-Renowned Rock Climber Ron Kauk to Speak in Yosemite

Rock-climber and author Ron Kauk will appear in Yosemite on April 17 to discuss his new book, Spirit of the Rock, in a program for the non-profit Yosemite Association.

"Keep it sacred," Ron advises in Spirit of the Rock. In an afternoon of stimulating discussion he'll share his sacred experiences-his love of rock climbing, his love of Yosemite and wild places, and his deep commitment to protecting and preserving the natural world. Ron's accomplishments-from scaling granite walls to helping new generations connect to nature-incorporate the values of "respect and responsibility to our source of life."

Ron has spent a lifetime rock climbing throughout the world and has made several legendary first ascents in Yosemite. He has worked as a climbing guide, performed search and rescue, and acted as a stunt double for Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone. His commitment to protecting and preserving the earth is evident by his involvement in community service.
